First Loves Blogfest

Firstloves to include book, movie, group/band, person.

The first book I ever loved, Little Bear's Friend.  I still have this book!
This or any other Chipmunk album, yes  they were all vinyl.  I had a red portable record player that I sat on my bed and  played my Chipmunks.  I would sing along and just have my own chipmunk party! No, I'm not embarrassed why do you ask?

This was the first vampire movie I ever loved. Still like it today, however the second one sucks!
Now as far as a person, if we are talking teenage infatuation it was a guy named Nathan Holbrook. A "friend" introduced us but she got jealous and did everything in her power to break us up. She eventually got her wish. Many years later, he found me again but life was too complicated and nothing ever came of it.

Wordzzzzz on Wednesday

Thanks to my new blog friend Tracy Brown, I have a theme for Wednesdays on my blog!  She knows about this awesome place called Wordle and you can make word clouds.  I thought this would be fun to just throw in some random words and see what the 'ol imagination can come up with to enthrall thee!  Okay I apologize in advance I didn't notice that the word generator I used generated a misspelled word until I had already saved the graphic from Wordle (maybe I shouldn't link to that generator)! Hahaha gotta love technology and my not paying attention!

I grabbed a box off the shelf. It said, " something to wet your appetite, lentil and reindeer loaf in a box. Open with your kitchen scissors, there is no limit to the culinary creations you can make." I turned the box over and over and asked myself, "is this a joke?"

A to Z Reflection

Ah A to Z how do I love thee?

I almost forgot about this great thing called The A to Z Challenge, since I was a child, threw a hissy fit and deleted my previous blog which of course contained last years challenge.  NO regrets right, it should all be about the lessons that we learn in life.

This year I decided right before the challenge to go with a theme of writing a poem for each letter.

I don't know that this was a good or bad decision since I do believe that as soon as most people see poetry they turn right around and go somewhere else.  That would explain why during last years challenge I acquired over 100 followers and this year the number was lower, but those that decided to click that button I appreciate you!  All of you that chose to comment, you are the best!

I did not pre-write my posts, they were all written day to day.  Almost all of the poems came to me right before I woke each morning.  A lot of bloggers scheduled their posts, but not me.  I probably cut down on the time I had to visit  other blogs but there were some days I only felt like writing my blog and that was all.  I did try to visit everyone that left me comments and follow as many new blogs as I could, which in many cases wasn't reciprocated.  I understand though since people really only want to follow or read blogs that pertain to their interests. :)

I would like to thank the following bloggers as they visited my blog leaving their wonderful comments the most. Why don't you go check them out too! :)

Insecure Writer Wednesday

Hi, I'm MJ and I am an insecure whiner, whoops, I mean writer!  This is not a reflection on anyone that feels insecure in their writing, it is simply how I view my own insecurity.

I have a problem and I'm sure there are 12 steps out there somewhere that would help me. I have a starting problem.  I have ideas in my brain, they sound good when I say them out loud but when I go to place them on the page I have no clue where to start, other than a brief description of the idea in my head.  After I get that out, that is where I really become clueless. Perhaps that is why I am drawn to poetry, the lack of complete sentence usage. However not all my ideas are poem worthy, they would make excellent stories and that my dear reader is where my problem lies. I have no idea where to start?  I am sure the old muse is becoming weary of visiting me since I never put her visits to use.  I would love to write a story to completion.

I have a hard time with writers that say the story writes itself, or the characters tell them what to do and they just follow along.  I do not have that form of writers aptitude or delusion? If you are one of those type, please explain in detail how this is possible without sounding like a schizophrenic. ;)

What to do, what to do?

Okay here it goes, look I can actually write words that form sentences and not just poems! :) First things first, let me say thank you to all my followers and commenters.  Now that A to Z is over I'm not quite sure what to do with this blog?  This is the same problem I have encountered in the past, since this is my (clears throat, blushing) third time re-establishing this blog.  I guess I just wanted to be one of the cool kids and say hey, I have a blog too, not stopping to realize that said blog must have content that other people want to read.  I do regret my last deletion since I lost all of the followers that I gained from last years A to Z challenge, but this is what happens when we (I) act like a child and throw a hissy fit.  So maybe there should be no regrets but at least a lesson learned.

I want to keep you coming back to visit and gain other followers too so I should figure this is out.  Any suggestions fellow bloggers, is there something you would like to see on this blog? Please be nice with your suggestions and I will consider them accordingly.
